Our lives are made of powerful stories. As the brilliant Dr. Walter Fisher, one of my professors at the University of Southern California, noted: "When God made man He made him homonarran, or storyteller." I’m passionate about understanding how stories influence us and shape our values, beliefs, and behavior.  

My writing, both non-fiction and fiction, emerges from my academic research throughout the world. I have been privileged to study the effects of mediated narratives and mediated characters in more than 60 nations during the past 30 years.  In this website, I will share much of what I have learned through these international adventures and fascinating discoveries about our mediated cultures.
